The contract of "Hire-Purchase" is a legal institution that was established in Common Law and accepted by some of legal systems such as Iran. "Hire-Purchase" is a method of buying goods in which the purchaser takes possession of them as soon as he has paid an initial installment and obtains ownership of the goods when he has paid all the agreed number of subsequent installments and exercises his option to purchase the goods. A Hire-Purchase agreement differs from a credit sale agreement and a conditional sale agreement, because in these transactions the ownership passes when the contract is signed. According to the article, the main nature of Hire-Purchase is hire (lease), so the rules of the contract, rights and duties of the parties are mostly the same as hire.
