Investigation of Chlamydia trachomatis infection in vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) patients by direct immunofluorescence

We was suspected to clamydia trachomatis infection in vkc patients. We chose 100 case of vkc patients and 100 case of control group without vkc. Then from all of these 200 cases conjunctival smear was been prepared .Smears was been tested by direct immunofleuroscence and checked for chlamydial infection. 4% of the vkc patients (1 male & 3 females) had chlamydial infection and 1% of control group (1 famale) was positive. In this investigation there wasnʹt relationship between vkc & chlamydial infection but we should investigate another microbial factors in vkc pathogenesis.
