Aluminium is one of the most abundant elements in the earth crust and enter to the body through drinkinkg water ,industrial use, nutrients and antacids. Aluminium poisoning causes wide range of disorders .Because the renal failuer patient with high serum aluminium have anemia. This experiment was performed to study the effect of aluminium on blood factors in rat.
The experiment performed in four groups of male rats (n=13). In addition of control group, three groups of animals, consumed a diet containing aluminium (0.625, L25 and 2.5 mg/gram diet) for 60 days. At the end, animals were sacrificed and blood samples were collected. RBC counted by hemocytometer, hemoglobin and hematocrit were measured by usually labratory methods and then MCHC was justified. Results are expressed as mean±SE and P<0.05 were significant. . The results show that RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit and MCHC decreased in those groups which consumed the diet containing 2.5 milligram aluminium compared to control group.
These results indicated That high aluminium intake in rat causes anemia, decreases RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit and MCHC in rat.
