An examination of economic and technical factors Influencing adoption of sprinkler irrigation technology in Ilam province

The purpose of this study was to examine economical and technic factors inlʹlaenceing in adoption of sprinkler irrigation technology among the farmers of llam province. This study utilized a descriptive survey research methodology. The population for the study was census of all farmers who adopted and have the sprinkler irrigation systems on their farms (N=60). The questionnaire developed by the researchers. Content validity were established using a panel of experts comprised of three agricultural and extension education faculty members at the Tarbiat Moddaress University. Further, the questionnaire was validated by three agricultural officer of llam province. A reliability analysis conducted and Cronbachʹs alpha were reported 0.83 percent. The results of the study showed that: There was a significant relationship between farmersʹ adoption of sprinkler irrigation technology and ʹpersonal characteristics (exept age, education and land situation)"; and economic factors. There was no relationship between adoption and technical factors.
