Document delivery: an unknown service in Iranian libraries

Document delivery service is not known by both the academics and some librarians in [ran. Some misapprehend these services as document provision services and inter-library loan. The concept is even not introduced in the Persian language LIS dictionaries. In this article document delivery services are defined and the necessity to of the service in Iran is discussed. The process, types of services and methods, document delivery dealers are introduced Also the URL of a number of document delivery web sites are provided.
