How library and information profession interacts with globalization process

Globalization has made crucial changes in any aspect of human societies. Library and Information Science as a branch of Social Sciences influenced by these changes. This article discussed globalization and its definitions and its influences on communication and information processes. In addition, it sees informatization as a new concept in globalization which appears to be important to be discussed. In the rest of the article, opportunities and challenges resulted in interaction with globalization for library and information centers has been reviewed. Finally, strategies and recommendations separately for involved institutions and peoples, LIS departments and faculties and students are provided.
