EVALUATION OF EFFECT OF AGE GROUPS ON DEVELOPMENT OF BRAIN GLIOMA BETWEEN JAN 2000 AND JAN 2002

Background & Aims: Studies about gens and effective factors in cancerous development are focused on factors that cause cell reproduction and malignancy. The aim of this study is to determine association between age groups effects on development of brain glioma, their prognosis and radiological findings. Materials & Methods: The medical records of 100 patients verified brain glioma patient treated in the department of neurosurgery at Imam Hospital in Tabriz between Jan 2000 and Jan 2002 were studied. Data was analyzed by X^2 test. Results: There was a significant relationship between age and the stage of glioblastoma and incidence and malignancy during the fifth and sixth decades of life. Discussion: The age groups play a critical role in development and severity of brain tumors. More Studies are recommended.
