FEMINISM AND BASIC CONCEPTS IN POLITICS

Being "political" has always been a main feature of feminism in the west. One of the first demands of womenʹs movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries was the right to vote. Later feminism broadened the scope of the "political" by posing the idea that "personal is political". Feminist political theory is not a monolithic phenomenon; it is rather an almost flexible framework for introducing gender issues into a political perspective. Within this general framework, various versions of feminism have challenged and / or contributed to basic political concepts such as the separation of private and public spheres, politics, state, democracy and citizenship. These challenges and contributions are reviewed and evaluated in this article.
