A CASE REPORT OF TUBO-OVERIAN ABSCESS AFTER CURETTAGE

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Tuba-ovarian abscess is a final stage in acute pelvic inflammatory disease, which may be occurred after uterine instrumentation and surgical operation and it is a rare disease. CASE: A 35 year old woman referred with pelvic pressure. pelvic pain and diarrhea one week after curettage and a 7.5x8.5 cm mass was reported in her sonography. Tubo-overian abscess was completely improved with antibiotic without any complications. CONCLUSION: Pelvic abscess should be considered in patients with fever and pelvic pressure after curettage. Early diagnosis and treatment of tubo-overian abscess cause to decrease mortality and morbidity.
