This study has investigated the relationship between individual variables, socioeconomic status, and academic achievement. Population consisted of 524 undergraduate students (238 females and 286 males), in the Faculthy of Psychology and Education Faculty of(University of Tehran). The average of first term and average of all courses yielded a total score for academic achievement. Variables used in this study include the subjectʹs gender, age, job status, marital status, average of diploma, type of diploma, type of admission, fatherʹs level of education, occupational status of father and total family income. Results indicated that significant relation between type of admission and diploma and average of diploma with academic achievement. Findings revealed significant differences in academic achievement between males and females. Females exhibited higher scores as compared with males. The general implications of this study and recommendations for further research are also discussed.
