Ultrasongraphic evaluation of the fetal genitourinary tract in Kosar Hospital of Qazvin

Background : The genitourinary tract abnormalities are the most common fetal malformations. Objective : To evaluate and determine prenatal Urogenital malformations in Kosar Hospital of Qazvin. Methods : Prospective and follow up study of 3438 pregnant women from 20th gestational week were evaluated during 1994 to 1996. Findings : Organ malformations were detectable in 51 cases (1.5%) in which 26 of these abnormalities (50.98%) were related to Urogenital malformations. Hydronephrosis was the most common malformation (84.62%). Conclusion : Ultrasongraphic is a useful method for evaluation and diagnosis of fetal urogenital malformations.
