Human resources play an important role in the success of any organization. Agricultural extension agents have a key role in the effectiveness of extension system. Job satisfaction among personnel in the organizations may lead to a sound human resource development program. A number of factors that influence job satisfaction have emerged from research reports on human resource development. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of selected variables on job satisfaction of extension agents. The sample population wete all extension agents with at the least a minimum of one year work experience in Western Azarbaijan, Kurdestan and Kermanshah Provinces. The theoretical framework for this study was based on Motivator - Hygiene theory developed by Herzberg. The study used a descriptive survey design. Data were analyzed using SPSS for windows. Data analysis revealed that there were a significant correlation between job satisfaction and selected variables such as work tenure, education, motivator factors and hygiene factors. Further multiple regression analysis was shown variables such as self work, responsibility, achievement and salary had a main effect on job satisfaction among the agricultural extension agents included in the study.
