Structural Estimation of Wheat Farmersʹ Risk Attitudes in Ramjerd District of Fars Province

In this study wheat farmersʹ risk attitudes in Ramjerd district of Fars province were estimated, using the structural approach proposed by Antle (1987). According to the findings in the study the . means of absolute Arrow-Pratt (AP) and downside (DS) risk aversions are 2.578 and 2.988 respectively, which indicates that these farmers are both Arrow-Pratt and downside risk aversed. Furtheremore, standard absolute deviations of Arrow-Pratt and downside risk aversion indicate considerable heterogeneity of risk attitudes in the population under study.
