A Determinatin of the Most Effective Traits in Yield under Two Irrigation Conditions in Mung Bean(vigna radiata)genotypes

In order to study the correlation between morphological, phenological and quantitative traits and yield as well as determine the most important triats effect on yield, 600 ecotypes of mung bean were evaluated in two normal and limited irrigation conditions. Correlation analysis showed that in the two conditions, number of pods per plant, harvest index and biological yield exhibit the most positive significant correlation with economical yield. The stepwise regression analysis indicated that in non-stress condition, number of pods per plant, harvest index , pod lengh , plant height ,100 seed weight and in stress condition, number of pods per plant , harvest index, pod lengh , 100 seed weight, number of nods per stem, days to 90% maturity were more important than other traits. Path analysis showed that in stress as well as in non- stress condition number of pods per plant and harvest index are the most effective on yield . Factor analysis showed that in stress and in non- stress conditions, 4 factors illustrated the most variation with factor 2 being more important than the other factors. This factor is comprised of number of pods per plant, harvest index and economical yield traits .
