An Investigtion of Callus Induction and Regeneration of Rice Genotypes (Oryza sativa L.) by Anther Culture

This study was conducted to evaluate callus induction and plant regeneration from anther in 5 rice genotypes as well as F1 rice plants. In the study callus induction medium N6 modified (FJ, FJ4, G1 and L5) and induction medium Murashige & Skoogʹs modified (M5, M7 and SK11) were used. The results indicated that FJ4 was the best for callus induction with Ghasrod - dashti (48.5%) and F1 from Ghasroddashtix 1828 (29.3%) exhibiting the maximum induction. Also regeneration in SK11 medium was better than in other media in Ghahsrod-Dashti (42.2%) and F1 (Ghasrod-dashti * IR28) (11.7%) and Salari *IR28 (10%).
