A Correlation for Pipes Economical Diameter Calculation Based on Domestic Expenses Analysis

In this work, determination of pipes economical diameter has been investigated based on effective expenses for piping operation in Iran. Total cost function included fixed costs, variable costs, labor, operating costs and exploitation costs has been defined as a function of pipe diameter for carbon steel pipe by consideration to the Iran market analysis and 1381, 1382 costs references of Management and Planning Organization. From minimization of cost function, a correlation has been reported for calculation of economical diameter of carbon steel pipes. The results show prediction of economical diameter of pipe based on domestic cost analysis is almost 38% lesser than similar correlations.
