Theatrical Dialog in Ancient Iranian Literature

Some ancient writings in Pahlavi and Avestan scriptures possess theatrical aspects, and can therefore be classified as theatrical literature. A review of the texts shows that the framework of question and answer resembles the pattern of theatrical dialog. These texts can be categorized as ceremonial rites and religious prayers if they were brought to performance and not prepared for the sole purpose of reading.
