One of the significant motifs of horse is the concept of sea-horse, i.e. in myths and narratives of various nations, horses either directly come out from water (sea and river) or as colt of stallion come out from water and mate with mare. Fictional examples of this motif exist not only in Iranian, Islamic, Armenian, Kurdish, Azerbaijani, Turkish and Mogul narratives/beliefs, but also in districts of Xotta lan /Xatlan, Toxarestan, (Tukharistan), Urfa and skirts of Amu Darya (Oxus River).
Except for Islamic narratives, no evident pattern or mythical roots can be found for the above story. Only some indications and connections are found between horse and water. As a common belief, one can perhaps view sea horse and its connection with water/as an important element in creation.
