Information behavior of teacher - researchers in education zones in Shiraz

Investigates information needs of teacher-researchers in education zones in Shiraz. A survey method using questionnaire is applied for data collection, research population covers 72 teacher-researchers. Findings show that research activities are the most important aim for searching information, particularly scholarly information. Teacher- researchers use formal sources (books, research reports and periodicals) and informal sources (consulting their colleagues) to access information. Most respondents prefer printed sources. Internet and databases are among the most important sources for electronic information searching and unfamiliarity with computerized systems are the most important factors for not accessing information respectively. There is not a significant difference between factors such as educational field, course level, and teaching and information behavior and teacher- researchers use a similar pattern for searching information.
