Dissimulation:its History and its Rules in Islam

Dissimulation suggests avoiding danger and protecting oneʹs life and property in terminological viewpoint. That has brought about different and various concepts in the fields of religious beliefs and politics and has cused wide - spread arguments. After studying the references, in the beginning we explain the definitions of terms and expressions related to this term. We then present a few historical stories such as the captivity of Moslems like Yasir, his son `Ammar, and Sumayya by the Qurays and indicate the descent case of some verses and different comments on dissimulation. Then we turn to a discussion of juridical rules on dissimulation and its permissibility and legitimacy. We also talk about "indispensable" or "recommended" cases from the view of Shiite and Sunnite jurisprudents. We study its political and social requirements and the events that obliged the Imam to use dissimulation and the issuance of some narrations that doesnʹt match because of dissimulation.
