The Review of Development and Fabrication of Full-Steel CNG Cylinders

The work towards the manufacturing and development of compressed natural gas (CNN) cylinders for fule storage of vehicle, started at 1970. All CNG cylinders are Caracterised by light weight and cost, depend on the cylinder manufacturing processes and materials used. Over past 30 years, intensive research has been carried out in the field of all- metal cylinder for storage of industrial or natural gases All-steel CNG cylinders attract more interest for automotive industry because of low cost, high safety and easy manufacturing. This paper present information about the various cylinders, manufacturing process and currently available tests for all- steel CNG cylinders.
