An Inquiry of the Relationship between Social Trust and Social Participation in Kashan Rural Areas

The purpose of this inquiry is to investigate and analyze the relationship between social trust and social participation. Therefore, in this research, the origins of the intellectual and theoretical frameworks dealing with the concepts of social trust and social participation as the critical and soft notions in social science literature have been scientifically studied. In this manner, the state position discussion in the thoughts of some of the major social science thinkers has been considered. Then, the conceptual and theoretical dimensions of these notions and thoughts have been examined. Through ascertainment components, trust in two levels, trust in individuals and trust in institutions, and the items dealing with social participation state operational definition. The elements of both concepts have been empirically applied to the areas under study. After doing the empirical test and according to the data collected, a significant positive relationship between these variables has been found out.
