An Investigation on Energy Efficiency Policies and Indices in Developed & Developing Countries

In the present study, we have evaluated the result of energy efficiency policies & indices from 56 developed & developing countries that are member of World Energy Council (WEC); including I.R.IRAN. For the above-mentioned evaluation, a solid questionnaire was distributed amongst 56 countries. Through this study various policies & indices such as: Energy Labeling, Building cods and Regulations, subsidies, Energy Audits (industry & building), minimum performance standards & voluntary agreements are considered. The effectiveness of various measures (policies) is highly variably among studied countries. In general mandatory measures, subsidy removal, and building codes have the highest effect on energy conservation.
