FUNDAMENTAL ASPECTS OF ILLUSTRATION ART

T he present research tries to demonstrate the differences between illustration and other artistic fields and to study its evolution throughout history. Illustration is an art form that has undergone more development compared to other art forms throughout history. It has assumed various applications too. The study of illustration works remained from the remotest periods in history, especially pre-historic era, gives us a clue as to the psycho-logical, cultural, ideological and social situation of communities in the past. The scope of influence of illustration on the audience since the early days of the cavemanʹs life a remarkable characteristic of the art form. The establishment in the last three decades of an academic course in illustration at masters level in reputable universities of the world as well as the Faculty of Fine Arts high lights the significance of illustration reaserch more than ever
