چكيده لاتين
The present study was designed to investigate the effect of painting therapy on the reduction of aggressive behavior in educable mentally retarded children. For this purpose, sixty educable mentally retarded boys with aggressive behavior were randomly selected from four educational districts in the city of Tehran. The pre- and post test design with control group was used. After matching the two groups of children, the aggressive behavior questionnaires were completed by parents. Painting therapy as an intervention programme was conducted in twelve sessions (each session 45 minutes) with the experimental group. Then the aggressive behavior questionnaires were administered in both groups. The results indicated a significant reduction of aggressive behavior in mentally retarded children in the experimental group.
