Military Geography : Its Domain and Nature

Perception of geographical features of the allies and enemies territories, is one of the basic concepts of defense objectives in the military literatures of states. The holy eight-year-defense against Iraq, emphasized the significance of the role of natural and human factors in combating military, cultural, economic, political and other threats at the national, regional and trans regional strategic as well as tactical levels. Concepts of geography and its Proper research methods, as well as military geography and its domain, are under study here. In order to develop a new definition for military geography with applicable aspects in different military activities, a comparison of the two concepts is duly made.
