A Review of Imposed War and 598 Resolution of UN Security Council in the Light of International Law Regulations

The realities governing the relationships between international actors in international community have clearly depicted that the legal order is not always a decisive barrier for aggrassive policy of some states. Iraq invasion of Iran in 1359 ( 1980) is a sample of such policy supported by foreign powers. Although Iran-Iraq War is considered as the first conflict in which West and East were not involved directly, direct participation of these powers in provoking and prolonging the war, which violates of principles of neutrality, makes impossible the imagination of war without the involvement of superpowers. The present article will analyze Iraq aggression against Islamic Republic of Iran, which broke out first and formost for political reasons and by provocation of foreigners perspective of illegality of the war together with the reasons of UN Security Council Silence to determine the aggressor. In the light of such analysis, the opportunity for future analyses of the Processes endorsed in resolution No.598 of Security Council, particularly those provisions addressing the international responsibilities of Iraq invasive regime and the effects of such responsibilities on the current government in Iraq and renewal of international consideration of war consequences and damages will be provided.
