Background & Aim: Radiographic is one of the most important factors in diagnosis and treatment plane in edentulous patients. High incidence radiographic finding and because of importance and no research about this article in IRAN, we do that. Method & Materials: This study is according to patientʹs panoramic view from oct. 1998 until march 2000 has done. These patients came to Kerman dental school for complete denture treatment. This group was included 130 male and 80 female (total 210). Result: From 210 Patients, 85.7% to the patients had a pathologic finding in their radiographies. The most common findings was retained root that was observed in 60% to the patients. The most common site for tooth root was maxilla (60%) and 33.85% of the retained roots were located at the posterior region. Another finding was radiopaque findings, seen in 35.7% of the patients. The mandible had the maximum lesions (85.9%) and 86.8% of the findings were located at the posterior region rather that the anterior area. About radiolucent findings, 31.4% of the patients had at least one radiolucent finding and 63.75% of the findings were located at the mandible and the posterior area had 90% of all findings. Conclusion: Another finding was impacted or unerupted teeth seen at 3.8% of the patients. These unerupted teeth were about 66.6% at maxilla and were seen in the anterior region (55.5%) more than the posterior (45.5%). In comparison with similar studies conducted outside the country the results showed that the percentage of the retained roots, radiopaque and radiolucent findings were greater and the percentage of the impacted teeth were similar to those studies.
