Rag-Sefid natural gas dehydration unit is located at Koozestan province of Iran. Its nominal capacity is 6.54 MMSCFD. Unsuitable operating conditions, too much solvent waste, and BTEX emission are the most significant problems in this unit and similar units of the country. In this research, a software is developed in MATLAB environment to tackle these problems providing basis for better control and optimization of operating conditions.
The unit includes an absorption column, a flash tank, heat exchangers, a boiler and a striper. All these process were considered in the software. In the software PR, MPR and JT state equations are used for thermodynamic calculations. The software also provides the possibility of employing activity coefficient for binary liquids. Several subroutines of the software have made it capable to calculate physical properties of non-ideal mixtures.
