Types of Meaning in Divine Texts

Different layers of meaning and their referential multiplicity are among the most significant elements in divine texts. Such a style makes the readers look for new interpretations and clarifications. This makes the Qurʹan a source of theological understanding. However, this depends on having a thorough understanding of the Text and its surface, transformed, compressed, deep, pointed, compared and original meanings. This paper discusses the nature of these different layers of meanings: It also points out to the ways by which one can cultivate them.
