Sumac (Rhus coria ria L.) is a woody deciduous plant. It grows in Irano-t,)uran mountains and contains many comp,)unds that are useful economically and in medicine, This report describe> the antibacterial activety of nine leaf and fruit extracts (aqueous s, ethanol and methanolic) against 11 gram positive and gram-negative bacteria, The best antibacterial activity was observed in the methanol extract of leaf against all standard ATCC and clinical bacterial strains.
