چكيده لاتين :
Widespread studies on the biodegradation of plastics have been carried out in order to overcome the environmental problems associated with synthetic plastics waste. The main aim of recent works is reducing of total cost of biodegradable polymer. Researches have included studies of the biodegradable polymer production with cheap carbon sources, the isolation of new microorganisms with high growth rate and potential of production, and the discovery of new methods for polymer extraction. In this article in addition to introducing biodegradable polymers, a special interest has been done on poly(hydroxybutyrate) as the most famous member belonging to poly(hydroxyalkanoates) group. After referring to production history, all kinds of reported poly(hydroxybutyrate) producing bacteria which grow on different carbon source in batch, fed batch and continuous systems have been reviewed and compared to each other from the productivity point of view. Also reported methods for recovery of PHB have introduced and their related disadvantages have been discussed.
