The Practical Application of Well Logs in Hydrocarbon Potential Evaluation of Source Rock

Today, using of well logs in the first exploration stages could identify the organic richness intervals and could be resulted the suitable related evaluation from organic source rock without sampling. In this paper, we would review not only the response of well logs with existence of organic matter but also the using of practical methods in the qualitative and quantitative determination of organic matter. Then, we have used a practical method as a case study for determination of organic richness of KASH-AFROUD .formation in the KOPET-DAGH region and its evaluated accuracy has been reviewed by core samples.
