Exploitation of river sand and gravel is a source of mane natural organizational financial and environmental problems. Recent years have seen mane efforts to improve the river material exploitation system .as Minab river is one of the richest sources of sand and gravel in Iran numerous factories have been established on is bed to exploit its material. Minab dam has caused total hindrance of base debit downstream flow and consequently downstream transmission of sediments especially coarse grains and erosion of this alluvial system bed and sides it has also led to river course change riverbed and side erosion meander expansion increasing riverbed widening endangering river constructions e.g. Minab bridge Minab dam and dikes and threatening population centers farm and gardens adjacent to the river related problem is alluvial material exploitation in recent years so many measures have been taken to improve this exploitation system it should be remembered however that within the current system technical issues water and sediment direction and its contribution to the river geomorphology as well as considering natural effects and condeguences of the river material exploitation are among the long-range objectives in relation to those alluvial system.
