The Systemic Model of Energy Demand in Household and Commercial Sectors of Iran

This study seeks to systematically derive and estimate the demand functions of energy products in household and commercial sectors as two main components of total energy demand (about 30 precent). The results indicate that if the increase in energy prices is aimed at the increase of governmentʹs income, it will be accomplished well due to demand inelasticity as well as the existence of complementary behavior (replacement trend) in consumption of these products. But if it is aimed at saving and decreasing the energy consumption, it will not be materialized easily due to varions structured problems in economy as well as technological in flexibilities and rigidities.
