Nickel is considered as an necessary and trace element and is a component of urease enzyme in higher plants. The aims of this study was finding the mechanism of the effect of varying concentrations of nickel (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 GamaM ) on photosynthesis and uptake of Zn. Fe and Mn in wheat (Zarrin cu.). Chloroplast suspension was used for studying Hill reaction by spectrophotometery with DCPIP. The uptake of Fe, Zn and Mn was measured by atomic absorption. By increasing the nickel concentration the rate of Hill reaction decreased. This can be due to higher Ni absorption and it,s replacement for Mn in water splitting complex. The results showed that by increasing Ni concentration, the uptake of Fe and radicle and plumule dry weight is reduced. In this study increased Ni concentrations caused a minor increase in Mn and Zn uptake. This finding shows that Ni dose not have a common carrier with Mn and Zn.
