بررسي علل عدم موفقيت عمليات كربلاي 4

"Operation Karbalaye Four" has been one of the Large - scale operations during imposed war which was accomplished by I.R.G.C forces in 1365 (1986) in Khorramshahr general area. However, the operation could not achieve its objectives and it was ended within a very short time. In this respect, this operation is the only massive operations which came to an end very rapidly. The Only achievement of the operation was that it played the role of deception operation for the next operation namely "Karbalaye Five Operation". The present article has made an attempt to review the reasons for lack of success of the "Operation Karbalaye Four". Among the various factors responsible for lack of success of the operation at tactical, operational and strategic levels, two variables of disregarding of the principle of surprise and bad condition of the terrain are the main topics of the present article. The analysis has been carried out using previous analyses and the findings of an MA dissertation on "Review of the Reasons for lack of success of operation Karbalaye Four in comparison with operation Valfajr Eight", The findings suggest that disregarding of the principle of surprise and bad condition of the terrain of the area in providing the requirement for crossing the Tigris River are among the factors responsible for lack of success in this operation.
