The Role of the Ulama of Isfahan in the Anajoman-e Velayati (Local Assembly) Based on the Contents of Rozname-e Anjoman-e Moqaddas-e Isfahan (the Organ of the Local Assembly)

Firstly, this work will try to explain and examine the situation of the Ulama of Isfahan during the period led to the Mashrotiyat Movement (Constitutional Movement) and then the reason why the ulama widely supported the movement in the city. Also, the article will attempt to justify the effect of the achievement of the movement on the establishment of the Anjoman-e Velayati in Isfahan, and the reasons and the motivation of the ulame for their support of this institution until the Coup of Mohamad All Shah against the movement. In the next section, this work will endeavor to investigate the structure, scope, the measure of the authority and the function of the Anjoman-e Moqaddas-e Melli-e Isfahan (Local Assembly) and its newspaper. The last issue would be to assess the position of the Anjoman compared with other institutions e.g. Majles-e Shora-ye Melli (National Assembly), the Shah and monarchy, Mashrotiyat and influential people at the era of the movement. Furthermore, in this section the political approach and effort of the Anjoman in the line of evaluating the measure of its independence and efficiency in the city will be examined.
