چكيده لاتين :
Zeolites are hydrated alumino-silicates of alkaline and alkaline earth metal ions having infinite three dimensional structures. Due to specific structure and chemical composition, they can behave as ion exchanger, absorbant and catalyst in many chemical reactions.
A zeolite sample from Hormak (zahedan) has been investigated using the chemical analysis methods (elemental analysis, XRD, thermal analysis, TG and DTA, and IR spectroscopy). Results obtained indicate that the Zeolite from Hormak region is natrolite. Using ion exchange properties of this natrolite, heavy metal ions such as Silver, Lead, Cadmium, Zinc, and Copper have been omitted from the urban waste water. In these experiments, the ion exchange isotherms such as distribution coefficients (Ks), equilibrium constants (Kalpha} and free energy of exchange have been obtained.
The higher and lower selectivity are toward the Ag+ and Zn2+ respectively: Ag^+ (Ka=0.091) > Pb^2+ (Ka=0.003) > Cd^2+ (Ka=0.002) > Cu^2+ (Ka=0.002) > Zn^2+ (Ka=0.001).
These results indicate that the exchanges ionic of natrolite for above heavy metal ions is lower toward clinoptilolite and mordenite. However on absorption of the distilled water, basic lewis sites in the structure of Zeolite formed is important from the point of calalytic properties.
