A Philosophical Look at Ethics and Morality in

The portentous growth and development of science in the past decades has faced scientists and researchers with different problems and dilemmas. The spread of unethical methods in scientific and research fields along with misuse of science and scientific innovations, have posed a challenge to the scientific- academic society. The article attempts to study the relation between research and morality and find the position of ethics and morality in todayʹs process of scientific and technological output. To answer questions in this regard we must first go through theories of morality, then define the structure of production of technology and the role of ethics in research. The result shows that one of the biggest dilemmas of materialistic culture was the elimination of moral and spiritual values from the infrastructure of human sciences. This has led to the uneasy attitude of materialistic civilization to concerning peaceful coexistence with moralistic ideologies. Modern science and technology are in the service of economy and manʹs innate needs. In fact the infrastructure and kingpin of existing science is not based on divine morality and ethical-spiritual values, and this negative outlook towards divine morality along with its positive view of what is being called materialistic morality, is the reason why the moral values of those treading the path of religion and divine ideology are considered as an anti-economic movement by the materialistic civilization. Until the day the direction and the basics of science are not reformed, and morality and spiritual values are not considered as fundamental elements, this problem would remain unresolved.
