Collection of hadiths concerning one subject and its consideration has constantly been among activities of hadith transmitters from the very beginning which has manifested itself in the frame oiabwab (chapters) in hadith collections. But hadith family is a set of hadiths with one subject or some very similar subjects which belong to hadiths of one bah (chapter) at the first level and to those related ones at the next level. Consideration of hadith family and mutual comparison of the texts of its traditions would lead to knowing types of hadith and discovering existing relations as well as the comprehensive meaning of hadith which can be treated as a subject of hadith understanding.
