Criteria Of Choosing The Suitable Polymer To Be Used In Improving Of Asphalt Mixtures Properties.

In order to utilize potential ability of polymers in improving asphalt pavements, the first stage is having correct information about the morphological properties of these materials in microscopic and macroscopic scales and developing a set of experimental and analytical methods for assessment of these properties. Accordingly in this paper the two parameters of (Tg) and (Tan()) were developed as the most important factors in chosing the suitable polymer to be used in asphalt mixtures. Furthermore, some laboratory tests such as tensile DMTA, Hardness, Tensile test, Residual deformation and Oil Absorption Tests are presented for evaluation of polymerʹs mechanical properties and their contribution in improving the same properties of asphalt mixtures.
