Relationship between Dimension of Personality and Happiness.

The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between personality dimensions and happiness among psychology students.Subjects consisted of 120 psychology students (51male and 59 female).That subject selected by means of cluster random sampling from colleges of psychology in Tehran city. In the current research, only bachelor students in psychology were selected as sample of the study. To measure the ,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) were used .Oxford Happiness Inventory were utilized to assess the degree happiness among students .Research findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between personality dimensions and happiness .In addition, the result of multiple regression analysis revealed that dimension personality explain 51 percentage of variance of happiness. However, the share of extraversion and neurotic relation with happiness was more than the other factors. Extraversion was associated positively with happiness, while neuroticism was negatively related to the happiness. Comparison of personality dimension in male and female students revealed that girls were higher in happiness and psychotics. However, in other dimension of personality there were not a significant gender differences.
