Drug abuse in the Penal Code.

Studying historical texts and kingsʹ biographies, one can find that drug abuse was considered "morally forbidden" by religion & the kings in the course of history. In Iran, the primitive laws, concerning narcotic drugs, were not too severe. They were just consisted of some moral guidelines. But later on the act of "prohibition of drugs cultivation & addiction" was approved. However, because of the internal & external pressures, the state of that time had to take serious consideration for combating with narcotic drugs. At first, use of drugs in public became prohibited but later its use, even in non-public places, became prohibited too. After th victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, drug abuse is regarded as crime. Since that time, many scientific discussions & investigations have done about the drugs, drug abuse being a crime or a disorder; many comments have been made towards the new drug penal code.
