Seismic Response of Sliding Asymmetric Buildings to Random Ground Motion

In this study the effect of dynamic characteristics on the response of sliding asymmetric buildings is investigated. The 3D buildings are modelled such that sliding blocks behave inelastically by considering a suitable yield surface. While, the supper structure considering to behave elastically. The nonlinear equation of motion are made and analysis are carried out in time domain. In order to consider the random process of earthquake, an ensemble of real earthquake records (Iran) are considered. The result, which has been discussed in details and compared to the otherʹs findings, are interesting.
