چكيده لاتين :
Ocneria terebinthina (Lep.: Lymantridae) is one of the most important pests of wild pistachio and occasionally pistachio in Iran. Up to 65% damage has been reported to leaves and fruits of the host trees. Restrictions on chemicals application calls for alternative biological approaches. One of the most important natural enemies of this pest is Ooencyrtus cf. masii (Hym.: Encyrtidae). Primary studies have shown important role of the parasitoid in controlling the pest (up to 30%). This research has been conducted to rear the wasp on alternative hosts in laboratory condition. All of the experiments was conducted in controlled condition (25 2 °C, 70 5 % R.H. and 16 L: 8D). Different stages of O. terebinthina were collected from Khojir region in near Tehran vicinity. O. terebinthina eggs as well as alternative host eggs such as Bombyx mori, Galeria melonella, Ephestia kuehniella, Lymantria dispar and Graphosoma lineatum were used for wasp rearing. Parasitism percentage and a number of survival parameters of the wasp were studied on G. lineatum. Results showed that O. terebinthina larvae could not survive on any artificial diets. O. masii didʹnt show any interest for ovipositing on eggs of G. melonella, E. kuehniella and L. dispar eggs. Parasitism occurred only on G lineatum and B. mori eggs. Parasitism percentage and biological parameters of O. masii were studied on daily G. lineatum eggs. Mean of larval period on G. lineatum eggs was 15.6 0.7 day. Female and male wasps longevity on G. lineatum eggs were 28.5 4.5 and 26.6 2.6 days, respectively. Sex ratio of emerged wasps from G. lineatum eggs was 1:1. Parasitism on G. lineatum eggs began on 10th day and the highest parasitism percentage occurred on 12th day. Results showed that G. lineatum eggs could be used for colony conservation of the parasitoid in laboratory.
