Objections Relevant to the Arabic Language of the Koran

One of questions related to the holy Koran is why the Koran was revealed in Arabic. It has been objected that the Koran as the sacred book of Islam claims to be a universal and perpetual Scripture, whereas the claim of its universality is inconsistent with revealing in the Arabic language. Why wasnʹt the Koran revealed in Chinese, rather than Arabic, so that a vast majority of the worldʹs people can understand it? Isnʹt it unreasonable that God sends down a heavenly book in Arabic and at the same time asks the non-Arabs to believe in it? Doesnʹt the Arabic language make the possibility of understanding the inimitability (ijaz) of the Koran more difficult? And the objections like these. The present paper replies to some of these objections concerning the Arabic language of the Koran.
