The Pathology of Intelectuality Courses in Contemporary Iran

This research were accomplished with the aim of Pathology of Intellectual movement in contemporary Iran, i. e. from constitutional movement to the islamic revolution. This is a historical-analytical study of the proposed subject. The theoritical model of article is compounded of Michel Foucault, Jean- Francois Lyotard and Jurgen Habermas approaches. The analysis of the intellectual movement is concentrated on tree parts: Thought foundations, intellectual institutions and encountring with the west whose pathology were made in adaptation on the theoretical model and socio­political structure. Thought foundations is included: The process of conceptions formation, Thought sources, thought independence and rationality. Iranian intellectuals had some weakness in Thought foundations. Intellectual institutions are as Darelfonon, Faramoushkhaneh, (Freemasonry) Fardidieh, Hosseynie Ershad and Leftism. At the end these institutions have performed "instrumental" "identifiable" and "practical" functions. Iranian intellectuals had different ideas in encountring with the west. A group of these intellectuals consider west, as an integrated totality and reject it, on the other hand, another group want to accept some aspects of the west. In general it can consider Iranian intellectuals, "left-oriented and elitists" that have identifiable, violent and instrumental tendanccs. The result of this article is ideal development towards a special-special type of intellectualism with new characteristics that consists: "rationalism", "thought independence" and without any "violence". In fact, the new type of intellectualism discourse is based on "tradition-modernity".
