Unification in Imam Alis Thought as Related in Nahjul Balagha

Purpose and background: Imam Aliʹs eloquent speeches and his logical behavior known as the practical attitude of Ali (Alavian behavior) as well as Nahjul Balagha- a book which displays his thought and ideas to us- are the sources of research in this article. The article tries to reveal the place of unification in Imam Aliʹs thought, a point which has been almost neglected in the studies of the practical attitude of Ali (Alavian behavior). Methods and materials: Those groups of sermons, letters and advices of Imam Ali which were related to the topic of this article have been chosen selectively and then been organized and analyzed. Results and Findings: Unification is one of the ideal goals in the Alavian thought and Imam Ali has reflected it in his ideas, speeches and actions. The practical attitude of Ali (Alavian behavior) in the age of the Caliphs was a suitable source to refer for all those who tried to work for the unification of the Islamic nation.
