چكيده لاتين :
Background and Objectives: Considering the importance of extracts of Umbelliferae herbs, the present study aimed
to investigate the antinociceptive and anti- inflammatory effects of hydro alcoholic extract of Dorema aucheri.
Material and Methods: In this experimental study, the experiments were performed on 80 male wistar rats weighting
190 to 200 grams, which were divided into 10 groups, each consisting of 8 rats.
To evaluate the antinociceptive effects, the formalin induced pain-test was used and for assessing anti- inflammatory
effects, the carrageenan induced hind paw edema model in rats was used. All animals were pre-treated with an oral dose
of extracts (100, 200, 400 mg/kg). The control group received no drug and the sham group at only received distilled
water. The first 0-5 min, and 16-60 min after formalin injection were considered as acute and chronic phases,
respectively. The paw volume measured in the mercury from 0 to 2 hand 30 min after carrageenan injection. Statistical
analysis of the data was performed using ANOVA and t-test where appropriate.
Results: Results of this study showed that extracts of Dorema aucheri can significantly reduce the pain depending on
the dose in acute phase (p<0.05). However, in chronic phase, the high dose of the extract could reduce the pain. These
results also revealed that the highest dose of extract can reduce paw edema in carrageenan test.
Conclusions: It seems that flavonoids can probably reduce intracellular calcium through inhibiting ofNMDA receptors.
It also reduces activities of nitric oxide synthase enzyme and calcium dependent phospholipids A2, which results in
antinociceptive effects. It may also be concluded that the anti-inflammatory effects of the extracts are through reduction
of prostaglandins. Considering the above findings, Dorema aucheri as an antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory
medicine could be introduced.
